Hispanic women are eligible for many grants that are available to them. They need to apply for these grants. There are many grants that are there for minority women but they are only received by the applicant through proper channels. The different types of grants are housing, education, health care, small business and child care to state a few.

The amount of the grant that you will get depends on the specific cause that you are applying for. Most of the federal grants for Hispanic women are free which means that you do not need to pay the money back and so you would not require any credit check, guarantor or collateral.

The US government offers more grants for women than to men as they believe that by nature women tend to be more responsible than their male counterpart and would use the free money for the exact purpose that they are getting.

But the real issue is that most of these grants go unclaimed because these women are taught from their childhood that they are suppose to only stay at home and raise children.

But in today’s society this view is changing, as they need to go out and find a job in order to support their family. To raise a family on a single income is actually impossible so they also add their income along with their husband’s to make their both ends meet.

Some times some women face unforeseen situation like the death or separation of their spouse and find themselves in dire need of enough income to raise their family. Then is the time that is challenging for the women who do not have college education or the money to have a degree.

It is this time that the educational Hispanic scholarship, which is a grant for Hispanic women comes to play and can bridge the gap between degree opportunities and the money required to attend it.

What many women miss these days is that there are thousands of grants available for women that are ready to take them through the college and provide them with a better lifestyle. There are many different Grants for Hispanic women that help women of this community to attend college, one such grant being women engineering scholarship.

The Hispanics who intend to apply for a grant from the US government should plan it accordingly so that their grant meet the requirement that they are looking for as well as their grant is sanctioned in the very first attempt that they take.

Applying for the grant for Hispanics is not very difficult. The only thing is that they need to plan it out keeping enough time in their hand. There are websites that come up with clear concept of the steps that should be taken for a proper application of the grants.

If you can divide the process of application into three different stages namely planning, writing and submitting. This is followed by receipt and referral and then by peer review and then the award.

The planning of the application is one of the most basic things while you are applying for the grant. The applicant should start as early as possible and collect all preliminary data that is required to determine internal deadlines.

The writing of the application is an important part that the applicant should not overlook at all and this should be written several months prior to the application due date. Then the application must be submitted to NIH through Federal portal, Grants.gov.

Then the application is received and is assigned for review by Division of Receipt and Referral in the Center of Scientific Review (CSR). Then CSR assigns it to NIH Institute/Center (IC) and a Scientific Review Group (SRG).

The SRO or the Scientific Review Officer assigns the application to reviewer and readers. SRG members then evaluate and review the application for scientific merits. After the initial review of the application it is sent for a second level of reviews.

The pre award process of the grant involves the management staff to conduct the final administrative review and negotiates awards. The NIH Institute/Center (IC) issues and sends Notice of Award (NoA) to the applicant or the institution or the organization. It is then that the post award management process begins.

Hispanic Business grants are of an enormous help to young and new entrepreneurs. These grants are though not easy to acquire. These grants are more earned than awarded so an entrepreneur should make sure that he develops a solid, articulate and professional business plan in order to ensure that the chances of success are most.

As a persistent entrepreneur one should not give up and learn from his mistakes. The patience, tenacity and diligence of the entrepreneur would eventually be paid.

The government in the form of Hispanic Business Grants offer funding on a low-interest basis to aspiring entrepreneurs who have lack of capitals. This loan could be used to address business issues that include acquiring land, furniture, equipment and machinery and other things that are required to start up the business.

The government also tries to help the Hispanic minorities through various business development plans to those whose business are in a disadvantageous position. Counseling, business analysis and management assistance are also offered as special services.

Hispanic Business Grants are allotted to people with set qualification and they must also make it believe to the government that the business they are running should provide a profitable income and should be operated within the territories of US. (208)The entrepreneur should also meet the standards that are set by SBA (Small Business Administration).

Apart from this the applicant must guarantee that the funds would be used in the manner approved by them only. The business that gets a Hispanic business grant, should be an eligible one and should not get any other kind of funds from any other sources apart from the loan that has been granted.

There should be a minimum amount of feasibility in the business plan shown by the applicant of this grant and it should be committed to the success of the venture too. Along with this the applicant also must show that he is capable of repaying the loan that he has taken and that he has a good disposition.

This grant is very helpful for young entrepreneurs who have the talent in them but to get the grant is not at all an easy process as it may seem. In some cases the grants require the applicant to have a business even before they file the application and the registration process. Once the grant is approved it gets deposited to your account.

There are many grants that are available to the minority community. Hispanics being one such community there are many grants that are there for them too. But the problem is that these minorities are not at all aware of these grants that are specially designed for them.

About the beginning of his term President Barack Obama stated that US would be a country that would have the highest percentage of people with post-secondary school degree. According to the recent study by American Enterprise Institute, claims that Obama’s goal would never be reached due to the lagging number of Hispanics with college degrees.

The study found out that only a minimal number of 51% of Hispanics enrolled themselves into college in 1999, 2000, and 2001 in order to attend their degree course. The AEI also gathered the information that there are specific reasons as to why this is the case with the minority ethnic group of the country.

Regardless of fact that Hispanics have lower college enrolling rates and graduation rates, it is important that Hispanics understand that there are barriers that exists within their system and these barriers are the ones that are placing them at an unfair position. Thus they are always at a disadvantageous situation.

Thus Hispanic students should avail themselves of all the information that they can lay their hands on about college like the admission process and the financial aids available out there that could be gathered from the website or from elsewhere. This makes them completely aware of the position that they are in and they know better what to do or how to go about it.

A very recent study shows that the future economic success in the state of Florida depends upon the increasing Hispanic post-secondary graduates. As the Hispanic population in the state is exploding it would be very soon that the labor population of the state would be of Hispanic origin.

According to the policy report there is a continuous information education that is being made available to the Hispanics so that they are aware of the needs that are to be done in order to get into and finish college.

As a Hispanic student, to pay the college expenses may seem alarming. Out of all groups in America, Hispanic has a frighteningly low college going rates and to top it media is constantly citing the rise in tuition fees. Thus they tend to attend the cheapest colleges possible.

In spite of this rise in the tuition fees there are plenty of programs that are available at lower cost. As a Hispanic student you need not go to the cheapest universities but take advantage of what is available to you to help you pay the fees and go to an institution of your choice, rather than what you think your income can dictate.

Hispanic students should not get into loan and find themselves in a debt in order to pay your college expenses. There are different types of other aids and college grants available to students, which include programs specially geared to Latino and Hispanic Descent.

As a group Hispanic always tend to rely on their own income to pay the cost of their education. But there are a number of scholarships that can help them take the pressure off by paying a percent or the whole amount of the course fee associated with the course that you plan to take up.

There is another option too of putting the money in a specific college fund much earlier to going to college and then applying for a federal grant, or to check with the college directly and find out regarding means-based grants.

Though paying for your college fees is beneficial as it prevents you from getting into debts but not looking for free cash available is again a drawback.

First, you limit your option, as you do not realize how much is available.

Second, a general trend shows that dropout rates are higher for those who pay themselves. This is because they need to work in order to pay their college expenses. This puts them under too much of pressure and at one point of time they succumb to the pressure.

They feel that they cannot devote the necessary time that is needed to focus themselves in their studies. Thus the college grants should be utilized to put yourself out of trouble.

According to research Latinos receive the least amount of federal aid as compared to the other minority group in US. The Latino Americans, due to culture and language difference may be not that familiar with the college entrance requirements and the ways to receive financial grants and thus they very often fail to receive so.

The Latino population is lagging behind so much so in receiving financial aid on many of the college campuses that some universities like Oregon State University is taking extra step to ensure more of Latino representation. OSU has a group that recruits Latino students and assist them while attending. This group helps in providing support service for all college going Latino students.

There are different types of grants for Latino students who wish to pursue college education. They merely need to seek these grants. Most universities and colleges offer a wide range of grants for Latino students.

Latino students can find money for their higher studies through Federal and State Financial Aid. With the help of this grant they can defray their college cost.

In order to apply for this grant the Latino student needs to fill a form called Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit it. The deadline to submit this form is usually June 30.

Once the FAFSA is submitted, it is reviewed for the aid and is automatically sent to state financial aid for approval if the funds are available. The applicant should note that the deadline for federal financial aid and state financial aid may differ. As an applicant, be sure to meet the deadlines in order to get the aid quickly.

By this procedure the Latino students may earn federal or state grants or a federal work study opportunity. Jose Marti Scholarship Challenge Grant Fund is an example of a state based grant that is a need-based merit scholarship awarded to students who plan their education in Florida public or private institution. The award amount is $2,000.
